The very first meeting of the Orlando Buzzards was held on August 25th 1974 at the Orlando Central Park Flying Site. In attendance were 12 founding charter members including well known members still attending the Buzzards field today such as Stan Pfost and Blaine Miller. This is an actual copy of the minutes from that very first meeting – carefully preserved and kindly provided to us by Blaine Miller.
My thanks to Lewis Gray for scanning this document and these are his comments regarding the meeting. “This is a scan of a copy of the minutes for the inceptional meeting of the OBSS……this is a real gem of Buzzards history. While there is mention of 12 charter members, it is not quite clear from the accompanying financial report (date unknown, but no later than November 1974**) as to who they all would be. I only count nine from the minutes. For myself, I can recall at least six (maybe eight at most) from my early association with the club in 1983. This document came by way of Blaine Miller and originated from Stan Pfost. My thanks go to both of these fine gents.”
