Minutes for December 2019 Meeting
This meeting was held on December 21 at the Ft Christmas field and called to order as the combined December/January meeting at 10:00 AM by president Raed Elazzawi. Ten members were present.
Minutes of the November meeting were read and approved.
The Treasurer’s report was presented by treasurer Lewis Gray. Members were reminded that annual dues are due by January.
Tangerine contest went very well. There were 99 entrants over the three days and the weather was good. The club earned a net $897. Surplus shirts are available for sale.
Appreciation was expressed for Lee Bailey’s care of the club lawnmower.
Toys for Tots contest generated a donation of 65 toys.
Next contest is the Winter F3RES on Jan 4-5 at the Ft Christmas field.
Range finder is needed to determine the 75 meter field boundaries recently declared by AMA sailplane competition rules. Club members approved maximum of $250 for purchase of a suitable range finder.
Members Gordon, Jody, and Braydon are participating in F3J team competition. Club members approved contribution of $500 to the F3J Team Raffle.
Approval of conditional contribution to our governing county parks office Christmas party was granted if they had not already held one. Purpose was to promote good will for the club.
Yellow posts were placed around much of the flight area by the county for parking guidance. Raed will talk to county officials about methods for the club to temporarily remove the posts for our needs.
