Minutes for May 2023 Meeting
This meeting was held on May 6 at the Ft Christmas field and called to order at about 1000 AM by president Raed Elazzawi. Approximately 14 members were present.
Minutes of the April meeting were read and approved.
The Treasurer’s report was presented by Doug Leonard. A new lawn mower was purchased and the old one was sold resulting in a net cost of $4226.80, there are 39 members on the club roster.
Old Business
FSS7&8 have been rescheduled for May 20 & 21 at the Ft Christmas field.
Weather cancelled the float fly session planned for April 29 and it will be rescheduled.
A soil sample from the ‘power flying’ area was submitted to the agriculture extension service by Lee Bailey. The results will be available in several weeks and the cost is $60.
New Business
Several methods are being investigated for enhancing lawn mower security including a trail cam, a GPS tracker, and Apple air tags.
The Mid South Soaring Championships is scheduled for 26-28 May at Triple Tree Aerodrome in South Carolina.
The meeting was adjourned at about 1018 AM.
