Minutes for November 2022 Meeting
This meeting was held on November 5 at the Ft Christmas field and called to order at about 1010 AM by president Raed Elazzawi. Approximately 13 members were present.
Minutes of the October meeting were read and approved.
The Treasurer’s report was presented by Lewis Gray, there are 41 members on the club roster.
Old Business
The Buzzards and the Pompano club conducted a mixed launch contest (FSS 11 & 12) at our field on October 22 & 23. There were 13 pilots on Saturday and 11 pilots on Sunday. Income was shared with the Pompano club.
Grass seed was spread on the power plane area in mid-October. This may be repeated next April.
Rob Blakeslee invited club members to his lake access for float plane flying on December 3. Our regular flying areas will be closed that weekend for the annual Fort Christmas Cracker event.
New Business
The park will host a FEMA emergency preparedness fair in the near future which will close access to the flying areas. Details will be provided to club members when information becomes available.
Tangerine is in 2 weeks at Kenny World in Ocala.
Toys for Tots (FSS 13 & 14) will be held here on 10 & 11 December. Entry fee each day includes a toy worth about $12. Toys will be delivered right after the contest.
The club approved cash donations or gift cards to park employees as Christmas appreciation gifts.
The meeting was adjourned at about 1025 AM.
