Minutes for January 2018 Meeting
This meeting was held on January 6 at the Ft Christmas field and called to order at 10:00 AM by president Raed Elazzawi. Approximately 12 members were present.
Minutes of the December 2017 meeting were read and approved.
The Treasurer’s report was presented by Lewis Gray. Current balance is $8148.36. Paid membership is 15 so far and attendees were reminded that 2018 dues are due in January. Tangerine financial details were presented and Lewis reported that net income was $1133.
Old Business
Toys for Tots (FSS6) contest last December collected 67 toys. We will try for 100 toys in 2018.
Broken gate hinges at Ft Christmas field will be fixed by the county.
Bid for the 2021 World F3K contest proposed by Mickey Nowell is awaiting response.
New Business
Next weekend (Jan13/14) is the F3J event at St Augustine. Details are on RC Groups.
FSS 1 will Jan 20/21 at our Ft Christmas field. Raed announced that a new landing scoring method will be introduced to accommodate sliding landings vice dorks.
A major DLG contest will be held in Gainesville on Feb 16-18.
The possibility of hosting an F5J (electric) sailplane event is being discussed.
An F3-RES contest is being planned for late March or early April by Raed and Doug Leonard. The club approved up to $300 for Doug to purchase materials for 6 regulation hi-starts.
Safety Officer Doug Leonard reminded us that FAA UAS registration is required and the number must be placed somewhere on the aircraft.
Club members were reminded to show membership cards to park staff when requested. Also, we are to report any concerns to staff if comfortable with doing so.
The meeting was adjourned at about 10:45 AM.
