Forgive me for not being as thorough as Gordon with the report. I don’t want to leave out Rick Eckel, Rich, & Rusty who also showed up to brave the early chill. Rusty had a great flight over the north trees working some far out lift. Rick was generous helping with the retrieving and Rich, with his unknown compilation bird practiced some spot landings. At one time we all heard a loud thud followed by a collective Ohhh from everyone. Looking over at Rich the first words out of his mouth were “Sometimes you just gotta do it”.

Thanks Gordon for the report, when did you have time to write it, on the airplane? anyway, I wanted to added a thank you to all that showed up, and to Rusty for grilling with the new “Grillderbeast” (grill cart)
The weather didn’t turn out as bad as we all thought, it was windy at times, with a few sprinkles. After lunch it actually got calm (about 8-10 mph) so I got afew more trim flights on the Ruby.

Nice words Jody, Costa and Lief, yes the buzzards are a unique society. Friendly, Helpfull, knowledgeable. Its fun just being at the field and listening to the banter that goes back and forth,and boy the guys are quick with the retorts )) I think you would have to search long and hard to find a better group of guys, and did i mention Pilot Ability.Just go down the line Rick ,Allan Rich , Raied, Tom,Lewis,Don, and a bunch more…all these guys are top shef pilots. This event was a washout for us in Florida but was won by Larry Jolly flying in CA with a time of over 1 hour.
