Minutes for November 2023 Meeting
This meeting was held on November 11 at the Ft Christmas field and called to order at about 1000 AM by president Raed Elazzawi. Approximately 15 members were present.
Minutes of the October meeting were read and approved.
The Treasurer’s report was presented by Doug Leonard, and there are 41 members on the club roster.
Old Business
The FAA FRIA altitude limit is still 400 feet but contest applications can request 1200 feet. Applications must also state the radius of operation and then a NOTAM will be issued by the FAA.
New Business
Several club members represented the Buzzards at a ‘Maker’s Faire’ held in Orlando on Nov 5 & 6. According to reports from Raed, Lee, Bill, Rusty, and Alan, many people visited the booth on both days. Some school groups want to visit the field and flyers were distributed to suggest visiting on Saturday mornings at around 10 and 11 am. The club might want to consider applying for a $1000 grant for a club doing the most for attracting new members. Also, we need to print and distribute Buzzards business cards.
New members were voted in: JR Denman, John Harmon, and Ezekial Gioia.
The Tangerine contest is next week. So far, 30 contestants have signed up which is good.
The meeting was adjourned at about 1030 AM.
