Minutes for August 2018 Meeting
This meeting was held on August 4 at the Fort Christmas field and called to order at 10:15 AM by president Raed Elazzawi. Approximately 13 members were present.
Minutes of the July 2018 meeting were read and approved.
The Treasurer’s report was presented by Lewis Gray. Current balance is $7256.62. Paid membership is 33.
Old Business
Raed announced that Jody Miller won 2nd place at the F3J World Soaring Championships.
Members present who participated in the F3RES contest in St Augustine on 14-15 July reported on the event. This was a successful, fun, team event. Raed won first place and Lee Bailey won 2nd. Mickey Nowell’s DLG event Big Timer was very useful for managing the flight windows, so the club authorized purchase of another Big Timer for future F3RES events. The amount authorized was $500.00 which Mickey noted is well below his expected market price.
New Business
Upcoming events are:
– FSS4 on September 15-16 at St Augustine
– ALES on October 6 at our Christmas field
College field grass has been mowed but it is too flooded for flying use.
The meeting was adjourned at about 10:30 AM.
