Minutes for October 2023 Meeting
This meeting was held on September 30 at the Ft Christmas field and called to order at about 1010 AM by president Raed Elazzawi. Approximately 15 members were present.
Minutes of the September meeting were read and approved.
The Treasurer’s report was not available.
Old Business
Raed will provide more details on the club’s participation in the ‘Maker’s Faire’ at the Orlando Fair Grounds on November 5 and 6.
Regarding the FAA FRIA process – we are not sure about the 1500 ft altitude permission yet. Also, we are required to file for a NOTAM when hosting a contest. All members were reminded to send in their FAA registration forms.
The UCF Design, Build, Fly Team visited with club members at the field on September 23 to discuss their project.
Lee Bailey and Bill Staley applied manganese and fertilizer to the power flying area today..
New Business
FSS 15 (2MERES) will be held at this field next Saturday (Oct 7).
FSS 16 & 17 (ALES) will be held at this field on 28 & 29 Oct, hosted by the Pompano Club.
On Oct 21 we will host a Member Appreciation BBQ lunch at the field. Food will be purchased from former member Ed White. All members and family are welcome.
A suggestion was made to provide the UCF team with a trainer type RC airplane such as an Aero Scout. Further discussion is necessary including with the UCF team members.
The meeting was adjourned at about 1025 AM.
