Minutes for May 2023 Meeting<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This meeting was held on May 6 at the Ft Christmas field and called to order at about 1000 AM by president Raed Elazzawi. Approximately 14 members were present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Minutes of the April meeting were read and approved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Treasurer\u2019s report was presented by Doug Leonard. \u00a0A new lawn mower was purchased and the old one was sold resulting in a net cost of $4226.80, there are 39 members on the club roster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Old Business <\/p>\n\n\n\n
FSS7&8 have been rescheduled for May 20 & 21 at the Ft Christmas field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Weather cancelled the float fly session planned for April 29 and it will be rescheduled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A soil sample from the \u2018power flying\u2019 area was submitted to the agriculture extension service by Lee Bailey. The results will be available in several weeks and the cost is $60.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
New Business <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Several methods are being investigated for enhancing lawn mower security including a trail cam, a GPS tracker, and Apple air tags.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Mid South Soaring Championships is scheduled for 26-28 May at Triple Tree Aerodrome in South Carolina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting was adjourned at about 1018 AM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
