Minutes for Aug 2022 Meeting<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This meeting was held on August 6 at the Ft Christmas field and called to order at about 1000 AM by president Raed Elazzawi. Approximately 15 members and guests were present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Minutes of the June meeting were read and approved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Treasurer\u2019s report was presented by Lewis Gray, there are 39 members on the club roster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Old Business <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Improvements to the runway for the power flying area were discussed. Lee Bailey found that a heavy roller would be too expensive. He then began experimenting with homemade drag devices and eventually discovered that a properly weighted mattress spring set can smooth out the surface<\/p>\n\n\n\n
New Business <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The St Augustine club is hosting the next ALES contest on Sept 10 and 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The rocket group plans to conduct launches in the sailplane area on Sept 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Buzzards and the Pompano club will conduct an ALES contest at our field on Sept 24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Raed asked for technical help to clean up the club Website. Wayne Collier will ask around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rob Blakeslee announced that he can arrange access to Lake Pickett for float plane flying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mickey Nowell announced an informal 2 meter F5JE event here on August 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Raed mentioned the World F3J Championship results where several Buzzards did very well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Notice for our annual Tangerine contest at Kenny World is posted on RC Groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
New members were voted in: Darren Pickett, Allen Way, and Erik Barcelo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting was adjourned at about 1030 AM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
