Minutes for March\n2021 Meeting<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This meeting was held on March 6 at the Ft Christmas field\nand called to order at 10 AM by president Raed Elazzawi. Approximately eleven members\nwere present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Minutes of the February meeting were read and approved. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Treasurer\u2019s report was presented by Lewis Gray.\u00a0 There are 38 members on the club roster now.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Old Business <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Seminole State College field is\nno longer available because we had to terminate our use agreement with the\ncollege primarily due to mowing issues. \nThe college has promised to refund the $800 that we paid last year for\nmowing services that did not occur. Club\nmembers are not allowed to fly at the college field anymore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An ALES contest (FSS #6) will be held\nat the Ft Christmas field on 27 March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
New Business <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Field flying operations were\nreviewed and discussed: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Guest flying: guests must be AMA members, field rules must\nbe explained, and, guest flying is preferred on the weekends vice mid-week so\nthat guests become familiar with members and procedures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Flying areas are\ngenerally defined as two main areas: \npower aircraft operate in the northwest mowed area near the barn, and\nsailplanes operate in the larger southeast mowed area. Variations are possible depending on weather\nconditions and number of fliers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
FPV flying: per AMA rules, a spotter is required and all\nflying must be line of sight. Flights\nmust stay within confines of our field (same area as gliders).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Orange County parks\nPOC: Former POC Trudy has been\ntemporarily replaced by Stephanie on Monday through Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting was adjourned at 10:35\nAM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
